Position Title: Survey Technician
The purpose of this position is to provide support to National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Capital Projects for, Construction Operations with the Savannah River Site (SRS). This support is in the form of survey expertise in the areas of planning, layouts and construction. Safety is a primary responsibility for all employees working on and off SRS. Subcontractor shall obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task.
DUTIES:
The Survey Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality, upkeep, calibration and coordination of the measurement equipment and its subsequent use, on the NNSA Capital Projects.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist the SM with the survey team’s implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programs
- Review all data for accuracy and completeness and prepare necessary reports.
- Expand the use of survey data in reporting, scheduling, and field work packages of all craft in the field.
Subcontractor must successfully complete the duties assigned above, as demonstrated during the period of performance and verified by the service provider’s manager or designee on a weekly basis.
Subcontractor shall be responsible for the management and execution of assigned programs/projects in accordance with the requirements of SRNS, and the operating policies and principles. The Subcontractor is accountable for the execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and required specifications for the project.
Experience / Skills:
- Experience conducting safety inspections in the industrial and field settings
- Experience in hazard analysis processes and related documentation
- Experience in reviewing and implementing OSHA standards and other health and safety documents
- Ability to identify and quantify potential hazards/exposures
- Experience determining applicable limits and implementing control schemes that protect the work force
Work Hours:
Work schedule will be a nominal 40-hour work week but can be part-time or with interruption between on-site requirements dependent on the support requirements necessary for the project.
Area Security Access:
- An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Subcontract personnel must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. After award, the selected uncleared candidate may be required to apply for a DOE clearance.
- Must be a US Citizen.
