LWS is seeking an individual with the experience, skills, and knowledge to support survey data analysis and calculations, drafting survey plats and exhibits, and communicating with survey crews and project managers to fully complete all assigned survey projects.
This position would be involved in projects that include boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, route surveys, control surveys, construction staking, record as-built surveys, and any other surveys that are assigned to the project team. These projects will be associated primarily in the energy market, with opportunities to work in other markets and states, based on the candidate’s experience.
Responsibilities
· Effectively communicate on all assigned projects.
· Perform boundary and utility record research
· Download, process, and provide quality control checks on all survey data.
· Analyze, reduce, and adjust conventional and GPS survey data, when needed.
· Prepare point calculations, stakeout plots, and upload files for field crew staking
· Maintain all survey files in the appropriate file structures and ensure that all company drafting standards are upheld
· Prepare and review boundary survey plats, easement plats, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, and various other survey deliverables.
· Must demonstrate clear commitment to delivering excellent customer service exemplified by the finished work product, be it a support service or tangible end-product
· Ability to teach and learn land surveying fundamentals
· Prepare survey drawings per LWS specifications
· Work under the direct supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor to ensure all project requirements meet minimum standards
Skill and Experience
· Proficient with Carlson and/or Autodesk Civil 3D.
· Proficient with Trimble Business Center (TBC)
· Solid understanding of field and office survey tasks, methods, and procedures
· Familiarity with horizontal and vertical datums, including state plane coordinates and local networks
· Ability to read and interpret multiple types of design drawings
· Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced project environment
· Minimum three (3) years of survey related experience is required
· Survey field crew experience is preferred.
· Experience with Trimble field products is preferred
· Experience with GIS related data and platforms is preferred, but not required
Two-year degree in a survey related field is preferred, but not required
