The Survey Manager job shall require all of the following duties be performed, but is not limited to those listed below:
Qualifications shall consist of previous pipeline survey experience as a Survey Manager or Supervisor, be familiar with pipeline construction practices, and be proficient with the utilization of GPS electronic survey data collection units and conventional survey equipment.
In directing the survey effort, the Survey Manager shall report directly to the Survey Project Director or (project specific named person) for pipeline survey related matters and the responsible professional land surveyor for boundary related issues.
Survey Manager’s typical duties and responsibilities can include overseeing the Survey Department and the following duties:
The Survey Manager shall possess the necessary computer skills to download data collectors (Trimble TSC2) using the Trimble Geomatics office suite and the Trimble Pathfinder office suite, review and provide a quality control function on said data.
The Survey Manager shall possess average computer skills in order to facilitate data transfer, progress reporting and electronic timekeeping.
The Survey Manager shall possess the computer skills to examine directories, copy files, etc. and possess the experience and expertise of downloading survey and related software packages. Candidates must also possess proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access. A proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred for this position. The Survey Manager shall possess a detailed knowledge and expertise of the various GPS equipment. This individual will oversee transmittal of notes and data and must be able to coordinate with Survey Techs to ensure the completion and integrity of the survey.
The Survey Manager shall possess a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, shall be required to pass DOT mandated Operator Qualifications (OQ), shall be required to take and pass DOT mandated drug testing and subsequent random testing as required.
The Survey Manager shall adhere to and follow any and all of EnSiteUSA safety requirements, safety requirements of the client and individual project, follow any and all environmental requirements of the client and specific project requirements.
The above job duties will require the Survey Manager to be available for travel and working at project sites when necessary. The Survey Manager is required to be physically able to traverse creeks and steep slopes, climb fences, walk long distances and work outdoors in various weather and topographic conditions for long periods of time. This job may require occasional travel outdoors.
A majority of this role is performed in office five days per week.
The Survey Manager shall take the necessary steps to ensure a safe working environment for the office and field personnel under their supervision and is to stop work when safety is jeopardized until it is secured again.
