Sustainability Intern

  • HRP Associates, Inc. is seeking a Sustainability Intern for our Greenville, South Carolina office. This Intern will have the opportunity to work with an experienced team of geologists, environmental scientists, and engineers, as well as our many clients. During this Internship, you will have the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom to real-life situations and take on the many practical challenges associated with developing, implementing, and improving upon a sustainability program. We are looking for someone who wants to grow, who’s curious, who loves both data analysis and the outdoors, and has wonderful communication skills.     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conducting a life cycle assessment (LCA) & product carbon footprint (PCF) on remediation product(s) HRP uses.  In doing so, create tools that can be used for future LCAs and PCFs.
    • Assisting with HRP’s sustainability program including establishing KPIs and programs and methods to track and work towards achieving those KPIs.
    • Assist with various policy development as it relates to sustainability programs.
    • Assist clients and HRP with Scope 1, 2, and 3 emission calculations.
    • Internally training HRP technical staff on key aspects of sustainability.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Undergraduate student that has significant coursework in sustainability topics that will support key responsibilities
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in MS Office products
    • Capable of working both independently and in a team environment
    • Self-motivated, have the willingness to learn and adapt to change
    • Capable of working in both office and field (outdoor) environments
    ***Please note: This is a paid internship opportunity.  The hourly pay rate is $17 to $20 based on experience, relevant education, and skillset.
