Franklin Pierce University is seeking a part time Adjunct Faculty member who has knowledge of and experience in the energy and sustainability fields with a focus on the financial and economic aspects of both. Knowledge of fossil fuels and renewable energy industry and facility with proforma cash flow model development.  The Energy &Sustainability Studies (ESS) Courses to Cover in 2023/2024 Academic Year are as as follows:

Energy &Sustainability Studies (ESS) Courses to Cover in 2023/2024 Academic Year:

GM550 The Future of Energy, Business, and Society 3 credits

This course examines the interaction of energy usage, business and society. Students study corporate social responsibility, socially responsible investing, doing business in less developed countries and the role energy will play in future business development, including the social, community and political road blocks encountered in new and existing energy ventures.

GM575 Building a Sustainable Enterprise 3 credits

Adopting a systems approach, this course studies the concepts of sustainable business practices. Students discuss resources such as food, water, energy and raw materials, as they consider their effect on a business enterprise. This course examines how profitability and sustainability interact in the triple bottom line concept.

GM630 Energy Economics 3 credits

This course provides the student with an overview of energy production, transportation and usage and how economics, technology, and sustainability issues interact. Students examine traditional non-renewable energy sources and renewable sources. The course studies worldwide markets for energy and the need for conservation, and considers further exploitation and improved technology. Prerequisite: GM561

Potential Additional Financial Courses:

ET101 Principles of Macroeconomics

 An introduction to macroeconomics, focusing on the measurements of economic well-being, the source of economic growth, and the fiscal and monetary policies of national governments. Topics from international economics, such as exchange rates, will be introduced.

FM257 Real Estate Investments

This course covers an extensive look at broad classes of investments in real estate, appraisal techniques, investment analysis, financing, and real estate law

MK365 International Marketing

The structure of foreign as well as home-based marketing and the financial features of international marketing.

Instructor Requirements.

• Knowledge of and experience in the energy and sustainability fields with a focus on the financial and economic aspects of both. Knowledge of fossil fuels and renewable energy industry and facility with proforma cash flow model development.
• MS/MBA required, PhD preferred
• Willingness to conduct weekly live case study discussion via Zoom
