    Job Summary

    The Manager of Sustainability oversees the development, management, and evaluation of sustainability programs aligning with the strategic plans of Compass Group and its clients. This role focuses on expanding sustainability outreach to consumers, clients, and suppliers, primarily emphasizing a significant Business and Industry client.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Leadership:
      • Lead the development and execution of sustainability programs.
      • Act as a thought leader to solidify the organization's leadership position in sustainability with clients.
    • Carbon Reduction:
      • Develop and implement a carbon reduction roadmap in line with the organization's Net Zero commitment.
      • Collaborate with carbon management consultants to integrate Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data into proprietary software for internal and external use.
    • Reporting and Tracking:
      • Create and deploy internal and external dashboards to track and report progress towards sustainability goals.
    • Collaboration and Partnerships:
      • Coordinate with internal and external teams, consultants, and NGOs to develop sustainability activities and protocols.
      • Identify and execute initiatives in sustainability, recycling/compostable programs, and waste reduction in alignment with global goals.
    • Training and Communication:
      • Develop and implement sustainability training programs tailored to different audiences.
      • Partner with Marketing to create clear and consistent sustainability messaging.
    • Leadership & Collaboration:
      • Demonstrate leadership and influencing skills with diverse stakeholders.
      • Act as the sustainability expert and thought leader for clients, customers, and associates.
      • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Compass Sectors and support departments.
      • Collaborate actively and contribute to a high-performing team.
      • Work towards and achieve goals assessed through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Additional Responsibilities:
      • This role necessitates a blend of strategic thinking, leadership proficiency, and technical expertise in sustainability practices. The objective is to integrate sustainable principles into the organization's overarching goals seamlessly.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in business or sustainability.
    • Desired 5 years of professional experience in sustainability and procurement.
    • Project Management experience is strongly preferred.
    • Advanced written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
    • Strong presentation and time management skills; strong management and leadership skills; advanced problem-solving skills; outstanding interpersonal skills.
    • Culinary and food service experience preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • High Customer Service and quality attitude, with great communication skills.
    • Public speaking skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
    • Ability to travel up to 50%.

    • This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, leadership skills, and technical knowledge in sustainability practices.
    • The position involves travel up to 50%.
