AgriCapture is a mission-driven company that certifies Climate-Friendly practices on farms, ranchlands and grasslands and quantifies associated emissions reductions, enabling producers to generate revenue for their sustainable management practices. By certifying agricultural products as Climate-Friendly and developing carbon credits, we serve corporations who are reducing and offsetting their GHG emissions while empowering consumers to consciously select Climate-Friendly products. AgriCapture was recently awarded a $7.5 million grant from the USDA to build a market for Climate-Friendly commodities.
Position Summary
As the Sustainability Project Manager, you will play an ownership role in assessing and reducing the environmental impact of agricultural practices through the development and implementation of carbon emission reduction projects. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in all facets of the sustainability space including regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, project negotiation, monitoring, reporting, and verifying emission reduction strategies.
Key Responsibilities
· Assess the environmental impact of current agricultural practices and identify potential improvements to reduce carbon emissions.
· Ensure compliance with all regulations and methodologies including but not limited to CAR, Verra, ACR, CDM, GHG Protocol, and others.
· Engage with farmers, ranchers, landowners, extension agents, and third-party project partners to facilitate collaboration and participation in projects.
· Negotiate agreements with stakeholders for effective project implementation.
· Develop and implement Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) processes aligning with carbon methodologies.
· Analyze carbon markets to understand trends, pricing, demand, and regulations.
· Collaborate with marketing and technology teams to communicate project benefits, incorporate innovative solutions, and create efficiencies in project development.
Skills and Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in in Business, Economics, Finance, Agriculture or a related field.
· Proven experience in business, finance, sustainability, or a related role in the agriculture sector.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into strategic initiatives.
· Strong understanding of carbon markets and sustainability reporting.
· Ability to develop and implement complex projects with a focus on environmental impact that provide a reasonable financial return.
Prefferred Qualifications
· Experience with carbon methodology protocols.
· Strong network within sustainability, agricultural, and carbon markets.
