Systems Consultant/Engineer (Pre & Post Sales) designs the enablement plans and configuration specifications and performs installation processes to implement integrated hardware and software systems and products purchased by customers. Prototypes and tests proposed solutions for feasibility, reliability, and quality. Being an Systems Consultant/Engineer (Pre & Post Sales) develops program and system specifications to meet customers' technical requirements and guide enablement, configuration, or coding of products and solutions. Provides technical information, requirements, and cost estimates to sales teams to use in proposals, quotes, and statements of work. Additionally, Systems Consultant/Engineer (Pre & Post Sales) creates and maintains documentation to provide customers with a reliable technical resource for product operation and maintenance. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Systems Consultant/Engineer (Pre & Post Sales) work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be an Systems Consultant/Engineer (Pre & Post Sales) typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Due to recent growth, we are currently seeking a Fire Extinguisher, Pre-Engineered Systems Field Technician to join the team in our Traverse City, Michigan office.

    NOTE: Candidates who can work in the Alpena area are highly preferred. This is located 2.5 hours east of Traverse City. The employee will only need to visit the Traverse City office on rare occasion. Most of the work responsibilities can be completed in the Alpena area.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Perform inspections and service on a variety of fire protection equipment including: portable fire extinguishers, kitchen fire suppression systems, and emergency lighting.
    • Seek out additional sales and service opportunities within existing customer locations, and advise the customer of compliance needs.
    • Develop long term relationships with customers and maintain customer retention.

    Qualifications

    • Mechanical ability and basic hand tool knowledge.
    • Ability to lift 75 lbs , safely use ladders, work overhead and work in tight spaces.
    • Work efficiently with minimal supervision
    • Organizational skills are essential for success
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to learn quickly is a must.
