We are looking for a qualified preschool assistant teacher to prepare small children for Kindergarten alongside our amazing staff in a nature and arts based program. Our classroom is mixed age 3 years-5 years.
The hours are 10:00 am - 4:00 pm daily, 30 hour per week. We are a one room school in the heart of Saratoga Springs. Our program is academic mixed with art/ nature-based themes. We also focus on social emotional work and academics. We sing through the day and offer a loving environment. This job requires a love of the outdoors. Our school offers an incredible twice a month field trip program where we take the children to various places in our beautiful city.
You will help mold the foundational elements that children need in order to have success in their education. An assistant preschool teacher must have a great love, and patience for children. We are looking for someone who is consistent in their attendance, holds a degree or certification in toddler/preschool, and has an ability to help with classroom management. Our students are lovely but they are young and need teachers who are skilled with supporting their individual and age appropriate needs.
The skills needed for this position include: knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods, the ability to keep children engaged, and the ability to earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child, so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of their education.
