Systems Consultant/Engineering Director oversees the design of enablement plans and configuration specifications and installation operations to implement integrated hardware and software systems and products purchased by customers. Develops standard processes and methodologies to prototype and test proposed solutions for feasibility, reliability, and quality. Being an Systems Consultant/Engineering Director directs the development of program and system specifications to meet customers' technical requirements and guide the enablement, configuration, or coding of products and solutions.     Job Summary

    As the Quality Director, you will assume a strategic leadership role in shaping and maintaining the highest standards of quality throughout the organization. Reporting directly to the President, your primary responsibility will be to provide expert guidance and counsel on quality-related matters, driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and customers.


    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Provide expert advice and strategic counsel on quality-related matters to the President and Senior Staff, contributing to informed decision-making and business growth.
    • Foster strong relationships with senior customer quality personnel, ensuring alignment with key customer initiatives and maintaining high levels of satisfaction.
    • Oversee and optimize the operations of the Quality Assurance department, ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to industry standards.
    • Evaluate and enhance overall product quality through rigorous analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Ensure the quality management system meets or exceeds customer and relevant Quality Standard requirements, driving excellence across all aspects of operations.
    • Supervise, mentor, and appraise the performance of employees within the Quality function, fostering a culture of accountability and professional development.
    • Assess and enforce Quality requirements for Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and new product development contracts, ensuring contractual compliance and customer satisfaction.
    • Develop innovative methodologies to analyze the overall Cost of Quality, implementing company-wide strategies to enhance cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Implement and oversee Statistical Quality Control (SQC) systems in key processes, collaborating closely with Manufacturing Engineering to deploy Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques effectively.
    • Lead cross-functional Quality improvement and corrective action initiatives, driving sustainable solutions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Recommend, implement, and maintain cutting-edge quality management software solutions, leveraging technology to streamline processes and enhance performance.
    • Utilize product and defect data analysis to identify opportunities for enhancement, driving proactive measures to address areas of improvement.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain ISO9001 and ISO13485 quality systems, including comprehensive manuals and procedures, with a keen eye on evolving industry standards such as AS9100.
    • Champion improvement initiatives across the organization, acting as a facilitator, sponsor, and change agent to drive positive transformation.
    • Conduct thorough performance evaluations and compensation reviews for subordinates, ensuring fair and transparent processes aligned with organizational goals.
    • Develop, monitor, and manage departmental budgets effectively, optimizing resource allocation to achieve strategic objectives.
    • Inspire and motivate employees through effective communication and positive reinforcement, fostering a collaborative and engaged workforce.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to resolve product or process discrepancies, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving across Value Streams, Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated proficiency in facilitation and coaching, with a track record of successfully guiding teams through quality improvement initiatives.
    • Proven experience in cultivating strong relationships with both customers and internal stakeholders to address quality issues effectively and enhance collaboration.
    • Previous engagement with customer and registrar audits, with a proven ability to respond to audit findings and drive continuous improvement efforts.
    • Solid understanding and practical application of manufacturing concepts, processes, and tools, including Statistical Quality Control (SQC) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
    • Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 requirements, coupled with experience in navigating export control regulations and adherence to manufacturing quality specifications and standards.
    • Certification or strong familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean methodologies, with a demonstrated ability to apply relevant tools and techniques to drive process optimization and waste reduction.
    • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
    • Previous experience in teaching and implementing lean initiatives across organizational boundaries, including both domestic and international contexts.
    • Proven track record of establishing and developing high-performing Quality organizations, including recruitment, training, and talent development.
    • Prior experience in designing and implementing performance metrics, along with the development of action plans to achieve established goals and objectives.
    • Extensive background in advising on Quality Management Systems (QMS) and associated standards compliance, with a strong understanding of domestic and international regulatory requirements.

    Desired:

    • Familiarity with Syteline software, facilitating seamless integration with quality and manufacturing controls for enhanced operational efficiency.
    • Proficiency in utilizing computerized scheduling systems for quality and manufacturing management, including MS Office software, IT systems, SPC charts, and general office equipment.
    • Previous exposure to AS9100, IATF16949, or other relevant Quality Management System (QMS) standards, demonstrating a broad understanding of industry best practices and requirements.

    Education and Experience

    • BA or BS in appropriate discipline
    • At least 10 years’ experience in Quality or a closely associated position within a manufacturing setting.
    • Previous experience in Electronics Manufacturing and Assembly preferred.
