Systems Consultant/Engineering Director oversees the design of enablement plans and configuration specifications and installation operations to implement integrated hardware and software systems and products purchased by customers. Develops standard processes and methodologies to prototype and test proposed solutions for feasibility, reliability, and quality. Being an Systems Consultant/Engineering Director directs the development of program and system specifications to meet customers' technical requirements and guide the enablement, configuration, or coding of products and solutions. Ensures the delivery of technical information, documentation, requirements, and cost estimates to sales teams to use in proposals, quotes, and statements of work meet sales cycle and project timeline requirements. Additionally, Systems Consultant/Engineering Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Systems Consultant/Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Systems Consultant/Engineering Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Primary Objective:
    Ensure large, low voltage installation commercial projects are completed on time and within the customer’s specification. Project timelines vary between one to six weeks, some with multiple repeat trips depending on the customer’s construction schedule. Employees must have an entrepreneurial approach, be flexible with work schedules, and work efficiently to meet the customer’s needs.

    Major Functions and Scope of Responsibility:
    • Installs cabling and devices for large commercial alarm, card access, and CCTV systems from start to finish. This includes but is not limited to reviewing blueprints, the scope of work, planning out the onsite installation, identifying equipment needed, properly running wire, and trimming out devices. 
    • Ensures jobs are completed on time and within the customer’s specifications (blueprint and/or writing/verbal request). Test systems to ensure proper operation and troubleshoot circuitry, identifying, and resolving issues quickly while working with customer contacts as needed.
    • Coordinates priorities with President.
    • Ensures that all cable that is installed is properly installed per code of local AHJ and according to drawings and/or blueprints.
    • Operates a scissor and boom lift and follows all company and OSHA safety guidelines. 
    • Maintains superior knowledge of alarm installation procedures, best practices, and local requirements.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    This position requires up to 75% travel and varied work hours.

    Experience Required:
    • 5 years of experience with low voltage security systems. Preferably installing large, integrated systems.
    • Experience with the following systems is preferred: DMP, Lenel, Brivo, Axis, Avigilon, Bosch.
    • Experience installing all types of low voltage cabling.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
    • Must have or be able to obtain a PERC or clearance card.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
    • Knowledge of network topography and configuration.
    • Able to read blueprints and technical documents to properly install systems.
    • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Great communication skills and customer service.
    • Proficient computer skills and the use of MS Excel and Outlook.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Can work independently and as part of a team.
    • Able to use standard hand and power tools.

    Physical Requirements:
    • Able to lift up to 60 lbs unassisted.
    • Able to climb up and down ladders.
    • Able to work on a boom lift and scissor lift.
    • Able to read blueprints (good visual acuity).
    • Able to work long days as needed to complete jobs on time.
