Systems Consultant/Engineering Director oversees the design of enablement plans and configuration specifications and installation operations to implement integrated hardware and software systems and products purchased by customers. Develops standard processes and methodologies to prototype and test proposed solutions for feasibility, reliability, and quality. Being an Systems Consultant/Engineering Director directs the development of program and system specifications to meet customers' technical requirements and guide the enablement, configuration, or coding of products and solutions. Ensures the delivery of technical information, documentation, requirements, and cost estimates to sales teams to use in proposals, quotes, and statements of work meet sales cycle and project timeline requirements. Additionally, Systems Consultant/Engineering Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Systems Consultant/Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Systems Consultant/Engineering Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     JOB DESCRIPTION

    Summary: The USARC, Deputy Chief of Staff G-4, Systems and Automation Integration Branch is responsible for Sustainment Information Systems (SIS) support to include; New Equipment Fielding, New Equipment Training (NET), functional and technical support and life cycle support of SIS for the USAR. SIS consists of both legacy/bridging Logistics Information Systems and Tactical Enterprise Logistics Systems (TELS) that include: Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A), Combat Service support Automated Information System Interface (CAISI), Very Small Aperture Satellite (VSAT). Additionally, the team provides functional and technical support for an USAR SIS Hardware Tracking Program. SIS is not a unique system to the USAR, it is a group of systems developed by the Army for automated logistics processes used by all Army components.

     

    The SASMO Computer Systems Analyst provides direct support to the U.S. Army in the Sustainment of USARC systems throughout their life cycle to include:

    • Combat Service support Automated Information System Interface (CAISI), and Very Small Aperture Satellite (VSAT) and Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A)
    • Set-up, configure, and install software updates and approved images and fielding of new systems and equipment.
    • Complete quality checks and functionality tests.
    • Process requests for issue of new systems upon unit level data migration.
    • Provide units disposition for displaced legacy systems.
    • Utilize the LOGSA, LIW, GCSS-A and USAFMSA website to validate data.

    The SASMO Computer Systems Analyst is responsible for providing both client system, hardware, and software technical support, as well as upgrades to all customers within USARC, to include CAISI, and VSAT and GCSS-A. They will:

     

    • Assist with maintaining hardware as needed to support client infrastructure and USARC software.
    • Maintain knowledge base (including fielding documents for all hardware) and technical training bulletins.
    • Ensure help desk tickets, when resolved, contain sufficient and correct verbiage along with appropriate documentation (training bulletins, work-around, End User’s Manual Plus (EUM ) links, etc.).

     

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • 2 years working knowledge and experience in support of DOD networks and advanced network knowledge in active directory, imaging, network architecture, scripting, and group policy management. 
    • IAT Level II certification (Security )
    • Must be capable of working independently and capable of working critical issues until closure. 
    • Good communication skills and able to communicate with customers, support personnel, vendors, and higher level enterprise support to troubleshoot, adjust, repair, update, and modify networks and systems to ensure full operations. 

     

    Preferred requirements:

    • Windows 10 or Server 2016 baseline certification
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic 365
    • Effective oral and written communications is key for this position.
    • Working knowledge of VSAT and or CAISI systems 

     

    Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:  

    • Operate as part of a team that is responsible for the following processes and deliverables:
    • Provide input to the government periodic evaluation reports on the programs to include approved goals and targets, delivery status and effectiveness of the programs.
    • The SASMO shall resolve the problem either in-person, over the phone, remotely, or by travel to the location
    • The Contractor shall provide customer support for exceptional problems
    • Conduct service audits to identify how well services are being delivered and potential opportunities for improvement. Provide reports that summarize the audit’s findings.
    • Work with customers, vendors, government personnel, and other contractors to coordinate customer service in order to resolve issues in a timely manner
    • Participate in Workshops and Training
