    Job Summary / Basic Function
The Building Automation Systems Operator is skilled work in the operating and
maintaining building automation (BA) systems and related devices.
An employee in this job monitors and operates BA systems using established software navigation and testing procedures and processes, identifies and records operational problems, and reports issues for resolution. Work involves performing scheduled preventative maintenance, testing, and routine repair duties on BA system hardware; running standard reports on system indicators and performance; and recommending and inputting approved adjustments to BA system software settings. Work includes assisting higher-level technicians and trades employees with installing and commissioning BA systems and diagnosing and resolving issues with BA system-controlled equipment and related systems. Work may include maintaining and adjusting pneumatic, electro- mechanical, and electronic controls based on approved settings. Work is performed independently and checked upon completion for adherence to guidelines and quality and timeliness standards
These positions are located at the Pennsylvania Western University Edinboro campus.

Time is set aside every morning to check boilers, problem equipment; a review of the Metasys System is made daily so that problems can be corrected as soon as possible.
