We are seeking a Manager of Chemical Engineering with the following qualifications in the Bridgeton, New Jersey area.
- Experience:
- 5 to 12 years of experience in chemical engineering.
- Management experience of 5 or more Staff members.
- At least 3 years of experience in process/production engineering with a focus on distillation and associated unit operation processes.
- Required Education:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering; advanced degrees are preferred but not required.
- Skill Set:
- Knowledge of process simulation software is preferred.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (preferred but not required).
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.

Major Responsibilities for this position are:
- Management Experience:
- Will be responsible and manage a team of 8-10 Operators.
- Process Optimization:
- Optimize distillation processes to improve efficiency, throughput, and product quality.
- Implement process improvements aimed at reducing energy consumption, waste generation, and environmental impact.
- Collaboration and Technical Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and reclaim, to implement process improvements and troubleshoot issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance to operations personnel to ensure safe and efficient operation of distillation equipment.
- Troubleshooting and Analysis:
- Perform process troubleshooting and root cause analysis to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Conduct material balances as part of process optimization efforts.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and training materials for distillation processes.
- Participate in process hazard analyses and management of change processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Review and develop Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to distillation processes.
- Support new product development initiatives by providing expertise on distillation processes.
Position Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience:
- Five to twelve years of experience in chemical engineering.
- Minimum three years of experience in process/production engineering focused on distillation and associated unit operations.
- Skills:
- Management experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex process issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
