Purpose
Lead and grow the company's embedded systems engineering capability for developing mission-critical automated test solutions.
Requirements

BS in engineering or science; MS a plus
-
10 Years embedded systems hardware, software and systems development
-
5 Years of experience in C/C#/C , VHDL and Python software development
-
5 Years of multidisciplinary leadership experience with direct reports having disciplines in systems, software, electrical and mechanical engineering
-
Thrives at leading in a dynamic environment, with multiple projects at different stages, from cradle to grave

Experience defining, documenting, modeling and managing technical requirements, inlcuding managing the technical scope of work

Exceptionalverbal and written communication skills

Helpful Skills

Military and aerospace embedded systems development experience for DoD and Tier 1 contractors

Experience with Serial, TCP, SPI, I2C, CANbus and 1553B communications buses

Experience with DO-178B, DO-330, SS-473 and MIL-STD industry software standards and specifications

Familiar with design and qualification for compliance testing (FCC, CE, IEC, EN, EMI, EMC)
-
Familiar with electrical design and verification (system schematic, PCB design/layout) and mechanical desgin (3D/2D in SOLIDWORKS)
-
Experience with NI and The Mathworks software: LabVIEW, TestStand, VeriStand, Matlab and Simulink

NI Certified LabVIEW Embedded Systems Developer (CLED)

Experience with SOLID development using agile code sprints

Experience with software and systems requirements definition, modeling and management tools, such as Rational Rose, Rhapsody, DOORS and Cameo

Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles, inlcuding SysML and ATML

Manage 7 engineers’ performance, career tracks, training and growth

Effectively motivate and provide technical guidance, problem solving and code reviews

Ensure the team delivers high-quality engineering solutions conforming to best professional practices

Work with cross-functional supervisors, leadership and external stakeholders to regularly plan and prioritize assignments for direct reports
-
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), CTO and direct supervisor to create and drive short- and long-term embedded systems engineering roadmap
- Participate in technical design planning, development and reviews as SME
- Contribute thought leadership via developer conferences, blog articles and industry events
Location
Company headquarters in South Windsor, CT with occasional travel to company offices and customer sites primarily within the northeast United States.
