Systems Engineering Technician assists systems engineers in the development of the systems infrastructure. Completes support tasks related to the design and implementation of hardware and/or software for the systems. Being a Systems Engineering Technician tracks and reports on systems performance. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Systems Engineering Technician typically reports to a manager. The Systems Engineering Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Automation Engineering Technician

  • SUMMARY:

    Reporting to the Automation Manager, the Automation Engineering Technician is involved in build and installation of new automated manufacturing cells; improve the currently installed automated cells; and development and installation of error proofing systems.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Assist with assembly and integration of automated/robotic manufacturing cells for US plants.
    • Development and installation of error proofing systems with sensors, cameras, vision systems
    • Assist with evaluation and improvement of existing or future automated equipment in HSS Plants where modifications are necessary to improve overall efficiency and cost reduction.

    ยท Responsible for completing all tasks assigned by the director of automation and/or automation engineer.

    • Ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations and quality standards.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum High school diploma. Associate degree preferably in automation is desired.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • Experience to meet responsibilities with minimal detailed supervision.
    • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical component selection for automation is desired.
    • Must be a self-starter, organized, dedicated, with good record keeping skills.
    • Hands on experience with basic mechanical and electrical tools (wrenches, wire stripper, multimeter, etc.) is required.
    • Must be able to read and understand both electrical and mechanical technical drawings.
    • Experience in PLC logic and robot programming is a plus.
    • Must have good written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to accept and cope with restrictive time frames and unpredictable situations.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet applications. Must be familiar with internet research, Microsoft Office software, and the use of e-mail.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
