Completes support tasks related to the design and implementation of hardware and/or software for the systems. Being a Systems Engineering Technician tracks and reports on systems performance. The Systems Engineering Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     • You will be responsible for managing the utilities data bases on asset criticality and Condition Rating of the asset.
    • You will examine work requests orders, sketches, blueprints, and other specifications in support of the UICAP program.
    • You will serve as a point of contact for UEM-iNFADS related to questions or problems of a technical nature.
    • You will identify, evaluate, and develop resolutions to complex interrelated issues.

    • This position may be required to travel for training and travel within the NAVFAC SE AOR to assist other PWDs within FEC SE with ICAP responsibilities.

    Qualifications

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing detailed statements of work necessary to identify maintenance and repair of utilities systems; 2) Performing inspections to determine the exact utility system conditions; 3) Coordinating, conducting, and tracking utility condition assessments; and 4) Providing utilities data to managers and staff in order to prioritize preventive maintenance, execute planned/unplanned mission expectations, and quantify project package data calls.     PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The majority of work will be performed under field conditions requiring frequent field surveys ascending ladders to rooftop, trusses, and other semi-precarious positions with exposure to moving equipment and other hazards associated with the construction and facility maintenance industries. Must be capable of traversing hills, swales, and rough terrain and be able to obtain a driver's license and operate sedans, pickup trucks and vans.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in various surrounding including offices, waterfront areas, airfields, industrial and residential facilities or construction and utility sites. Visits to certain locations may cause exposure to the normal hazards associated with construction work and industrial operations including confines spaces. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hard hats, safety shoes, protective clothing, respirator, protective eyewear and earplugs is required in the performance of the work.
