Seeking a Mid-Level Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with Payroll Accounting and Payroll Tax Credit Experience to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing payroll accounting and tax services to our clients. They will also be responsible for leading projects and supervising junior staff. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in payroll accounting, payroll tax credit accounting, and be knowledgeable in tax laws and regulations.Responsibilities:
- Provide payroll accounting and tax services to clients, including preparation of payroll tax returns, financial statements, and reports
- Review and apply payroll tax credits for clients
- Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll tax laws and regulations
- Supervise and train junior staff in payroll accounting and tax credit accounting
- Work with clients to provide payroll tax planning and advice
- Participate in payroll tax audits and investigations as needed
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and provide exceptional customer service
- Collaborate, keep up-to-date with changes in payroll tax laws and regulations with human resources department to ensure employee information is accurate and up-to-date
Qualifications:- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- CPA certification required
- At least 5 years of experience in payroll accounting and payroll tax credit accounting
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax laws and regulations
- Proficient in payroll software, such as ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead projects and supervise junior staff
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel as needed
