Director, Talent Management and Organization Effectiveness

  • Eaton’s Electrical Sector Americas group is currently hiring for a Director, Talent Management and Organization Effectiveness (TMOE). This role is a hybrid work model and can be based at the following Eaton locations: Pittsburgh, PA; Cleveland, OH; Southfield, MI; Waukesha, WI. Relocation assistance is offered.

    Position Overview:

    Reporting to the VP-Human Resources, Electrical Sector Americas (ESA), the Director, TMOE is the lead functional advisor to the region and collaborates with Sector HR leadership, to ensure alignment and successful implementation and execution of talent management strategies and processes.
    The Director drives business results by developing and leading critical initiatives to build the talent pipeline and optimize organization effectiveness in partnership with senior leaders across the business. This position will create, implement, and drive all aspects of the region’s talent management strategy, including (but not limited to) development programs that support over 30,000 Eaton employees across 15 countries.


    Essential functions include:

    • Drive business results and execution of the strategy by leading the talent management and organizational effectiveness initiatives across the ESA region.
    • Collaborate to design Eaton processes that deliver solutions needed to optimize talent management and enhance organizational effectiveness and across the Eaton enterprise to achieve business objectives.
    • Responsible for succession management practices including talent reviews and Eaton’s annual Organization Capability Assessment (OCA) process
    • Measure and track progress of talent, including development and action plans tied to specific talent development programs
    • Define and/or deploy solutions to address leader development needs to support Eaton’s vision, aspirational goals, leadership attributes and brand promise
    • Implement strategies to build organizational capability through development planning activities such as targeted assignments, planned career moves, experiential learning, special assignments, executive coaching / feedback and development programs.
    • Conduct organizational assessments and diagnostics for leader, team and organization development needs. Identify root causes and implement appropriate solutions to improve effectiveness and engagement.
    • Act as an internal consultant and subject matter expert for organization assessment and design (OAD) initiatives
    • Utilize organization change management (OCM) principles and methodology to support organizational change initiatives that achieve targeted outcomes on-time and on-budget.
    • Champion practices to improve individual and organizational performance, serving as the subject matter expert on performance and development goal-setting, talent assessment, coaching and feedback
    • Responsible for the diversity and inclusion strategy that is designed to foster integration of an I&D mindset into management practices and behaviors across the region.
    • Lead and coordinate the segment initiatives aligned with employee listening (onboarding, census, pulse and exit surveys)
    • Leverage size and scale of role and segment to be a thought leader that influences decisions made about talent at Eaton.

    Qualifications:

    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or Organizational Development from an accredited institution required.
    • Minimum ten (10) years in Organizational Development or Human Resources with direct experience in talent management.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master’s Degree
    • Experience in large multi-national manufacturing organizations with complex matrix structures
    Position Criteria
    • Proven success developing and designing OD and talent strategies that drive business results and performance.
    • Demonstrated experience developing business partnerships with cross-functional leadership to achieve results
    • Strong analytics experience and strategic thinking
    • Strong influence and communication skills
    • Demonstrated experience managing/developing people and coaching and influencing managers (at all levels)


    The expected annual salary range for this role is $153749.97 - $225499.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
