ACCOUNTING

Full Time Tax Accountant – Department 799: Kwik Trip, Inc. operates Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, and Tobacco Outlet Plus Grocery in Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota and Illinois; with 37,000 co-workers company wide. Our Accounting department has an opportunity for an individual to prepare tax forms and computations to comply with tax regulations and to maximize cash flow for Kwik Trip, Inc. and related entities. This highly self-motivated individual will have the opportunity to complete a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Assisting with preparation of income tax returns (individual, partnerships, S-Corp) for filing
• Preparing complex tax calculations for Kwik Trip’s income tax returns, which involves reading and interpreting tax law
• Applying financial and cost accounting principles
• Assisting with preparation of financial statements
• Assisting with the preparation of tax related fixed asset records
• Assisting with tax research and audit representation

Qualifications: 

• Successful candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree

• Strong passion to work with tax law to save significant cash flow
• Eager to learn and stay updated on tax law
• Strong analytical and financial skills
• High level of customer service
• Demonstrated level of confidentiality and professionalism
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Organized and detail oriented while demonstrating excellent math skills
• Possesses a strong work ethic with the ability to identify and complete tasks without direct supervision
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Team player that brings positive energy to the workplace
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products with proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook

Experience with SAP, Bloomberg fixed assets, and CCH Axcess is very helpful. Candidates who have their CPA is beneficial, but not required.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime hours working 40 - 45 hours per week.  May occasionally include evenings and/or weekend hours.
