Tax Director directs and oversees an organization's tax policies and objectives. Monitors reporting and planning to ensure compliance with applicable tax statutes. Being a Tax Director ensures accuracy of tax returns and works to minimize the organization's tax obligations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Tax Director typically reports to top management. The Tax Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Performs intermediate administrative support work the collection and receipting of various revenues, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Assistant Tax Collector.
Minimum Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED and one to three years experience working in cash handling, customer service, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Comments
Receives, processes and posts various revenues and fees; issues receipts; ensures payments are balanced. Receives revenues through the mail. Files various records and reports of daily activities. Abides by, enforces and participates in the implementation and ongoing oversight of Randolph County Government safety standards and regulations.
