Job Summary:
Under general supervision from the Tax Equalization Director/Land Use Administrator, aids the Tax Equalization Director/Land Use Administrator, participates in administration of the department, assists the Tax Equalization Director/Land Use Administrator with establishing and implementing department policies and procedures. In the absence of, or, at the direction of the Tax Equalization Director/Lad Use Administrator, represents the department before the County Commission Board, works with other county departments, supervises and implements the sales and ratio study functions and performs special projects as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Issues permits for moving mobile home and prepares required documentation.
· Compiles and keeps up to date list of mobile homes and mobile home courts.
· Make sure all mobile home and personal property taxes are paid in a timely matter and reports the delinquencies to the Director.
· Inputs all sales and send verification letter.
· Provides comprehensive customer service, including delivery of accurate, prompt, and courteous assistance on policies, guidelines and standard practices to internal and external customers, and concerns with values, both verbally and in writing.
· Participates in a variety of meetings, committee, boards.
· Review assessment provided by all the assessors.
· To identify all property and determine if the property is taxable or exempt, if the property is exempt ensure the exemptions are properly administered and if they are taxable determine equitable values.
· Send applications annually for property tax exemptions and credits, maintain documentation fore exemptions and credits.
· Analyse and input all exemptions and credits into the program as approved.
· Transfer deeds, surveys, or any recordable document.
· Complete residential assessing projects as assigned; photographs and sketches layouts of structures; determine grade of material and quality of workmanship.
