Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to assist with preparing individual and small business tax returns from January through April 2025. This is a hybrid, independent contractor position offering flexible hours (20-30 hours per week). The ideal candidate will have strong tax preparation experience, be knowledgeable about current tax laws, and be able to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
Duties
Prepare individual and small business tax returns (Form 1040, 1065, 1120S, etc.)
Review client documents for accuracy, completeness, and tax-saving opportunities
Communicate with clients to clarify tax-related questions and gather necessary information
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
Assist with filing returns electronically or via mail, as required
Maintain confidentiality of all client information
Meet deadlines and work efficiently during the busy tax season (January–April 2025)
