Tax Supervisor is responsible for supervising the tax reporting, tax planning, and compliance function. Supervises the completion of accurate tax returns in order to minimize the tax obligations of an organization. Being a Tax Supervisor must be familiar with regulations at the federal, state and local level. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Tax Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Tax Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Tax Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. This is the working management team and/or advanced specialist level in the professional tax accountant series. Incumbents in this class exercise a high degree of independent judgment on diverse and specialized projects and have significant accountability and ongoing decision-making associated with their work. This class reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for directing overall departmental administration, as well as the day-to-day operations of various tax accountant(s) & tax processor(s). Incumbent is an “independent credentialed accountant” primarily managing assigned client relationships and supporting CEO with special projects as necessary.
Job Duties for AVP, Tax Services:
This position works independently within our operations department and is an integral part of managing our clients and team members. You will work alongside a team of like-minded individuals managing the following day to day responsibilities:
Manage 1-6 team members
Assist senior management in reaching strategic business objectives
Accurately prepare & supervise individual (1040) and business tax returns (1120, 1120S, 1065) and associated schedules and financial statements with minimal supervision
Serve as a liaison between senior management and client management/ operations
Interact with business owners, providing them high-level insights and advanced analysis on their business’s financials and performance
Present timely reports to clients & Lighthouse Accounting Group Executive Leadership for review
Ability to reconcile tax returns to books and records
Ability to complete back work projects in an efficient, timely manner
Serve clients a subject matter expert for all issues relevant to services offered by Lighthouse Accounting Group
Qualifications for AVP, Tax Services:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA)
Minimum of 6 years experience in accounting or related field
QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
BS/MS in accounting or related field

Compensation:
Starting $95,000.00- $175,000.00 DOE performance bonus
