Teacher Elementary School jobs in Amarillo, TX

Teacher Elementary School prepares lesson plans and instructs students in an assigned elementary school. Develops and implements grade appropriate course work, activities, and assessments to meet the academic, developmental, and social needs of children in K-5 classroom setting. Being a Teacher Elementary School monitors and guides classroom behavior. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. Additionally, Teacher Elementary School evaluates and monitors student's performance and progress. Participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require state-specific teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Teacher Elementary School occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. To be a Teacher Elementary School typically requires 2 -4 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER

    • Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to  help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
    • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.

    Special Skills:

    • Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.  Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in individual students.
    • Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
    • Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objective, and methods according to district requirements.
    • Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
    • Compile, maintain and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
    • Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues and community members.
    • Comply with state, district and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
