Teacher Elementary School prepares lesson plans and instructs students in an assigned elementary school. Develops and implements grade appropriate course work, activities, and assessments to meet the academic, developmental, and social needs of children in K-5 classroom setting. Being a Teacher Elementary School monitors and guides classroom behavior. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. Additionally, Teacher Elementary School evaluates and monitors student's performance and progress. Participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require state-specific teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Teacher Elementary School occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Ludington Elementary School Physical Education Teacher 2024-2025 School Year

    Ludington Elementary seeks a motivated physical education teacher who is responsible for teaching physical education to students and assists the staff of the school in the improvement and appreciation of lifelong fitness habits. Helps students grow in their enjoyment, appreciation and performance of lifelong commitment to healthy habits. The position performs other duties directly related to this job description.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Strives to foster a lifelong habit of healthy lifestyle choices.
    • Develops and implements engaging physical education lessons that align to district curriculum and Michigan’s standards of creating, performing and responding.
    • Creates a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate.
    • Evaluates each student’s gross motor skills and contributes to their growth and contribution to the overall classroom performance experience.
    • Collaborate with all school personnel to integrate physical activity into the overall school curriculum.
    • Utilizes repertoire of instructional strategies to promote a variety of physical fitness activities.
    • Differentiates physical education curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and the student body.
    • Plans a balanced PE program and organizes daily class time so that preparation, direct instruction, and practice can be accomplished within the allotted time.
    • Establishes positive rapport and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment during PE activities. Actively promotes the school’s PBIS and SEL initiatives to ensure a safe environment for all students.
    • Communicates clearly with parents and school faculty/staff on the progress of individual students.
    • Maintains care/responsibility for school-owned equipment to prevent loss or abuse.
    • Willingness to participate in professional learning communities to support school-wide and district-wide alignment of physical education.

    Qualifications Required:

    • Minimum BA in Physical Education or related field
    • Valid teaching certificate and endorsements
    • Ability to collaborate with educators at all skill levels
    • Strong commitment to establishing lifelong physical fitness.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    • The position can be physically demanding. Candidates should be able to perform the various skills as well as engage in physical activities with students.
