Teacher Elementary School prepares lesson plans and instructs students in an assigned elementary school. Develops and implements grade appropriate course work, activities, and assessments to meet the academic, developmental, and social needs of children in K-5 classroom setting. Being a Teacher Elementary School monitors and guides classroom behavior. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. Additionally, Teacher Elementary School evaluates and monitors student's performance and progress. Participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require state-specific teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Teacher Elementary School occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Duties:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation
- Provide instruction in various subjects, including language arts, math, science, and social studies
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles
- Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and other forms of evaluation
- Provide individualized instruction to students who require additional support or early intervention
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Valid teaching certification/license (preferred)
- Experience working with elementary school students
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Proficient in lesson planning and curriculum development
- Experience in physical education or extracurricular activities is a plus
- Ability to write reports, assessments, and other educational documents accurately and effectively
- Experience in tutoring or mentoring students is desirable
