Job Description
IB DP Applications and Interpretations predominantly centers on the practical applications of mathematical concepts. It's specifically tailored for students who have a keen interest in leveraging mathematics to better comprehend the world we live in.
This course correlates closely to Texas courses in Calculus and Statistics. The specific topics included in teaching this course are Number Skills, Sequences and Series, Financial Applications, Linear and Nonlinear Functions, Differentiation, Integration, Geometry, Trigonometry, Descriptive and Bivariate Statistics, Probability, Distributions, and Hypothesis Testing.
Special Knowledge/Skills
● Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
● Successful experience teaching IB Mathematical Applications is preferred
● General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
● Proficiency with the TI-84 plus functions and applications.
● Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

EXPERIENCE
● At least two years of teaching experience in specific content area
*Experience with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program preferred, but not required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position will operate in a professional, non-smoking office environment, which at times can be busy with moderate noise and many unscheduled interruptions. This role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers and peripherals, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and Promethean boards or Apple TVs.
