Teacher High School prepares lesson plans and instructs students in an assigned secondary school. Develops and implements grade appropriate course work, activities, and assessments to meet the academic needs of children in a grade 6-12 classroom setting. Being a Teacher High School evaluates and monitors student's performance. Assesses and documents students' progress. Additionally, Teacher High School participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require state-specific teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Teacher High School occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Qualifications:
Prior teaching experience is a must.
FL Department of Education Teaching Certificate preferred. If lacking a teaching certificate, willingness to complete a post-baccalaureate program to earn a teaching certificate. Relevant college degree or equivalent education / passion for subject area.
Ability to create a structured, creative, and positive classroom as well as adapt to a busy extra-curricular schedule are essential.
Note: Teaching demonstration may be required during final stages of interviewing process. Fingerprint clearance card required for the successful candidate.
