Teacher Kindergarten prepares lessons and instructs students in an assigned elementary school's kindergarten. Develops and implements activities to meet the academic, developmental, and social needs of children in kindergarten classroom setting. Being a Teacher Kindergarten monitors and guides classroom behavior. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. Additionally, Teacher Kindergarten assesses and documents students' progress. Participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require state-specific teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Teacher Kindergarten occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with Ohio Academic Content Standards, with a focus on literacy skills grounded in the science of reading.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of each child.
Use effective classroom management strategies to create a safe and conducive learning atmosphere.
Collaborate with other educators and parents to create a supportive community for students.
Conduct ongoing assessments to track students' progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Valid Ohio teaching license for Early Childhood Education.
Strong understanding of the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession.
Knowledge and application of the science of reading principles in literacy instruction.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment for young children
