Sayre School is accepting applications for a Kindergarten Assistant for the 2024-2025 school year. Sayre is a co-educational preschool through 12th grade school, located in the downtown area of Lexington, KY. Our kindergarten classes are academically challenging and enriching environments that support project-based learning and the importance of community building. This position is a supportive role to the kindergarten lead teacher and a partner to students and families alike. We all work together to understand, guide, nurture, and challenge students.

Expectations and Responsibilities:

• Assist in classroom management, the physical environment, as well as, student behavior and classroom routines
• Fosters classroom procedures that are clear and promotes a positive learning experience for all
• Collaborates with the lead teacher for morning meeting, transitions to special classes, and throughout the day
• Uses appropriate judgment to act in the best interest of students at all times
• Reinforces learning objectives with students
• Enjoys working with young children

Qualifications:

• High school diploma is required
• Early childhood experience is preferred
• The ability to adhere to all Sayre School policies and procedures of professionalism
