Salary placement shall be made by the Board or the Board designee and is commensurate with education and experience pursuant to the APT Negotiated Agreement
For the 24/25 school year a
maximum of 5 years of previous experience credit will be awarded (Row E on the attached salary schedule). Experience will be verified.
Additional Salary:
Potential Signing Bonus to be determined for 24/25 school year.

9 Month Position
Description:
- Strong Knowledge of State and Federal transition compliance requirements
- Develop lesson plans and goals that meet District expectations.
- Modify lessons, materials, jobs, and work environments through the use of job analysis.
- Utilize a variety of teaching and training techniques to execute the work/employment plan and curriculum.
- Gather and maintain records of student work needed for IEP development and STEP grant.
- Evaluate and assess student funtioning and progress to guide work training instruction.
- Chair IEP meetings and manage caseload. Prepare information for use in the transitioning process and participate in the development of the transitional plan, IEP goals, and objectives.
- Conduct and interpret formal and informal assessments to evaluate student progress, maintain records of student work, and develop intervention strategies to ensure student success and growth.
- Provide consultation services to special and regular education staff.
- Research, gather, and share transition and work-related information for students, parents, and community members.
- Develop, coordinate, and facilitate internships for students.
- If willing, complete training to be a Diabetic or Seizure Care Aide.
- Orient the community employer to the student and work training plan.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate the work training plan including career clusters and internships.
- Participate in events outside of the regularly scheduled work day such as orientation, open houses, conferences or parent/student events.
Qualifications:
- Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsements registered in Will County/Region 56
- State approval as Vocational Coordinator
- School Leadership endorsement preferred but not required
- Certificate of good health signed by a licensed medical provider
