Qualifications and desired characteristics:
A full-time teaching position involves teaching 4 sections of about 16 students in each. Applicants must be willing and able to teach across the Spanish curriculum (levels 1 through 4) and to introduce students to the cultures of Latin America and Spain. The goals of the Spanish program are to create full-immersion classrooms where students learn the language through activities designed to practice the different modes of communication (interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational) and to promote cultural competence. Our Spanish and other World Language teachers work closely with one another, honing and reshaping curriculum, assessments, and assignments.
