About The Position:

When it comes to criminal defense, this job really has the best of everything. Let me explain.

You'll have your own clients & caseload to manage.

But you're not on your own. "Team" is literally in the name of our firm! All 8 of our attorneys really do function as a team. We meet daily to discuss cases and share knowledge. We cover each other's cases when there are schedule conflicts. Our entire team gathers multiple times per month for training sessions. We have senior attorneys ready to help at any time.

On top of that, each lawyer works one-on-one with their own Case Manager that helps communicate with clients, advance their cases along, and make life easier.

Additionally, the attorneys at our firm are allowed to be attorneys. You have the autonomy to handle a case as you see fit. You'll get tons of great trial experience. Finally, you are NOT expected to bring in new cases, do client intake, or do anything else that takes away from lawyering.

Your job is just to be the best damn lawyer you can be!

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in court on a daily basis
• Consult and advise clients on case outcomes
• Negotiate with prosecutors daily
• Manage and review evidence to progress a case through the legal process
• Conduct research and analyze a criminal case
• Effectively employ strategies to defend your client
• Present evidence to a judge or jury
• Conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner at all times

Qualifications

• The requirement is to be (or become) an amazing lawyer!
• Previous criminal litigation experience (ASA, PD, etc) is desired.
• Great attitude and a big smile - we like to hire happy people.
• Ability to work autonomously and also with a team of attorneys
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Ability to build rapport with prosecutors, judges, and others in the legal community
• Law degree
• Licensed in Illinois
• Bilingual is a plus
