The IT Service Desk Manager ensures team members are trained and coached on effective methods to research, troubleshoot, deliver solutions, and access the current product or technical updates. Manages the staff and operations of an organization's technical help desk. Being an IT Service Desk Manager identifies and gathers key metrics to analyze the help desk performance and identify problem areas. Trains the team on the help desk systems and tools to identify, document, track, and resolve reported problems. In addition, IT Service Desk Manager monitors and measures service metrics and volume to develop standards, improvements, or changes to workflows and resource allocation. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Work with individuals with developmental disabilities to help them lead richer lives. You would instruct and guide these individuals in developing basic learning and self-help skills, as well as communication, community, and prevocational skills. In addition, helping individuals reach their optimal level of functioning by assisting in goal setting, assisting in the development and evaluation of habilitation plans consistent with Service Plans, and monitoring and recording individual progress. May also instruct and observe direct care staff in employing appropriate strategies with individuals consistent with their habilitation plans. Assist in the vocational and social rehabilitation of individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Conduct preliminary evaluations of individual’s potential and existing capacities and interests, assess their ability to follow directions. Work with peers and supervisors to plan and conduct the Valley Ridge CIT day programs, directly supporting individuals through individualized plans.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop program and plan activities for assigned groups.
· Review ongoing performance data.
· Provide and/or assist staff in carrying out services and activities.
· Provides guidance and training to direct care staff in the implementation of goals and service plans; and may supervise direct care staff in implementing those plans.
· Prepares schedules and programs and arranges for necessary resources within the Work Opportunities Program.
· Arranges transportation if needed.
· Implements service and Behavior Support plans.
· Identifies individual’s progress and growth through the recording of observed behavior and performance in various activities.
· Observes individual’s work habits and consults with other work site staff.
· Assists Rehabilitation Counselors and Habilitation Staff by gathering and distributing materials and supplies required to conduct group activities.
· Attends training in day programming, behavior support, and other related topics.
· Participates with other habilitation staff in regular, periodic reviews of programs.
· Attends and contributes to meetings to review individuals’ work attitudes, behavior, performance, and attendance.
· Develops and implements routines and goals for individuals to increase attending behavior and acceptance of guidance.
· Evaluates overall progress to ensure transition into either less restrictive or more advanced program areas.
· Keeps daily records of attendance and performance.
· Evaluates plans and goals to ensure that they are current and attainable and notes any significant changes or events.
· Develops plans and routines based on needs identified by the treatment team and limitations of available program areas and agency resources.
· Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Permanent service as a Habilitation Specialist 1, OR;
· Eligible to 70.1 transfer to a Habilitation Specialist 1 title, OR;
· Reachable on the current Civil Service List for Habilitation Specialist 1.
· Provisional appointment may be considered.
To be eligible for provisional appointment Candidates must have a bachelor’s or higher-level degree in a human services field*
*For the purpose of these examinations, a degree in a human services field includes the professional disciplines of audiology, community mental health, nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, social work, speech/language pathology, and therapeutic recreation (including concentrations in art, creative arts, dance, drama, music, or physical education.) Also included are related academic disciplines associated with the study of human behavior (e.g., gerontology, human services, sociology, speech communication); or human skills development (e.g., counseling, education, human development.) Examples of non-qualifying degrees include but are not limited to criminal justice, political science, liberal arts, and business.
