    As a Technical Director at Cornerstone, you will be an integral part of the production team, managing a wide range of technical and production activities for new resident live shows and immersive experiences. This position may include onsite, hybrid, and/or remote work as dictated by business needs.


    Primary responsibilities include planning and executing events, with the knowledge and understanding of how to best implement the overall creative vision, using available technical and logistical elements that help effectively execute an event. The Technical Director will manage the technical elements of local, national, and some international events, as well as virtual events.  The Technical Director works with a great deal of independence and exercises independent judgment in performing a wide variety of duties but must also excel in a team environment.  Must have strong experience in scenery, lighting, AV production and management.  Additional responsibilities will include sourcing materials, managing freelance staff, negotiating with vendors, drafting, coordinating event supplies and shipments, The TD is also responsible for managing virtual elements of events, including streaming components, both onsite at live events and in studio or remotely if necessary.


    Key Responsibilities:


    1. Technical Production Management:
      • Oversee and coordinate technical aspects of live events and shows.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of technical requirements.
      • Manage change orders regarding equipment and monitor their impact on project.
      • Work with department heads to order and track equipment, labor, and logistics.
      • Identify and solve issues that will impact the project and schedule.
      • Communicate with Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager and Vendors regarding equipment needs.
      • Assign and supervise technical crews for projects.
      • Manage streaming components of live and/or pre-recorded elements of virtual events.
      • Manage studio and/or remote recordings or live segments of virtual events.
      • Prepare operational exit report or survey to close out project.


    1. Project Planning:
      • Lead project planning, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
      • Ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
      • Attend initial meetings with client and account executive.
      • Attend site visits, meetings, and conference calls.
    1. Thematic Technologies:
      • Apply thorough knowledge of theatrical technologies to enhance production quality.
      • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements.


    1. Collaboration and Communication:
      • Collaborate with creative, production, and technical teams to align on project goals.
      • Communicate technical requirements and specifications to relevant stakeholders.


    1. Safety Compliance:
      • Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.
      • Oversee the implementation of safety measures during events.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Audio Visual technical experience is a must. Candidate must be well organized and able to handle multiple tasks. Must possess strong written and verbal skills in addition to effective time management, leadership, and people skills.
