Creates abstracts, bibliographies, and metadata to classify the information. Additionally, Technical Librarian obtains translations of literature as needed. The Collection Development Librarian provides leadership in the areas of collections, technical services, and archives. Major responsibilities include the selection, evaluation, maintenance, and promotion of the Giovale Library’s collections based on data analysis, knowledge of university curricula, programs, research needs, and awareness of emerging trends in scholarly communication and publishing. Other responsibilities include the acquisition and cataloging of materials, management of the serials collection, and coordination of the thesis submission process. The Collection Development Librarian manages the Colleges Archives and Institutional Repository. This position supports student success by developing and maintaining a library collection that supports the college curriculum.
