Technical Trainer creates and conducts technical training programs. Determines training objectives. Being a Technical Trainer writes training programs, including outline, text, handouts, and tests, and designs laboratory exercises. Lectures on the safety, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of software, machinery, and equipment. Additionally, Technical Trainer administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Technical Trainer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Job Summary
The Technical Trainer is responsible for the development and implementation of Brainstream training for internal departments as well as external care providers to include curriculum development, training delivery, proficiency evaluations and on-going program development and maintenance.
Essential Job Function
Conduct Brainstream training for internal users to include Member Outreach, Provider Relations, Case Management, Social Determinants of Health and other general users using various delivery methods to include In-Person Training, Virtual Training and utilization of the Learning Management System.
Assess training needs based on department function and user ability.
Prepare educational materials and tools.
Prepare and edit training videos.
Record yourself simulating how to’s and training videos
Work directly with learners on an individual and group basis based on needs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
Ability to read and interpret documents, such as policies and procedures, and develop training materials.
Ability to compose training materials and guides as well as routine reports and correspondence.
Must be comfortable educating delivering training and providing feedback
Must be comfortable recording yourself demonstrating training and how to’s
Organizes and prioritizes work with minimum supervision.
Education & Experience
Associate degree in computer science or related field or equivalent related experience
2 3 years experience in an IT role
Prior training experience preferred
Prior video and editing experience
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
