    Required • Associate’s degree or be willing to obtain an associate’s degree.
    Qualifications: • 2 years’ experience in a dental/medical office; clinical administration or clinical lead,

    dental assistant or dental hygienist

    Preferred • Associate Degree in a dental field
    Qualifications: • 5 years clinical experience in a dental office

    Knowledge, Skills, • Effective clinical coordination techniques
    Abilities: • Follow HIPAA/OSHA law

    • Knowledge of dental/medical software
    • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to analyze situations and make decisions within policy and legal framework
    • Self-starter, motivated, energetic and will take initiative to achieve positive change
    • Proficiency in computer operations systems, database software including Microsoft
    Office Suite
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

    Position Summary: To provide supportive services in the Dental Hygiene program in accordance with

    established policies and guidelines. Manage the Hygiene clinic patient schedule,

    participate in preparing course materials, correspondence, maintaining student

    records/clinical records, provide recruiting and admissions activities, as well as other

    academic, institutional and community support activities. Provide input to the Director

    of Allied Dental Education and Vice President of Instruction relative to the processes of

    the clinic.

    Essential Job • Manages the overall patient records system; ensures HIPAA compliance; administers
    Functions: operator entry, patient data base, and scheduling components; trains staff, faculty,

    and students in proper use; assists in the development of policies and procedures for

    patient records protocol.

    • Provides project support to the Director, including gathering statistical data for
    CODA Accreditation.
    • Attends internal and off-site trainings, committees, meetings, and other relevant
    events as appropriate.
    • Manages financial status of dental hygiene clinic; posting patient payments and
    closing daily reports
    • Develop and maintain patient schedule for hygiene appointments
    • Greet and check in patients before and after appointments
    • Assist program director and dental education faculty with course material
    preparation, correspondence
    • Participate in student recruitment and admissions activities

    • Work closely with other faculty, administration and staff; attend meetings, serve on
    committees
    • Support the vision, mission and policies of Salina Area Technical College
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Physical Requirements: • Occasional physical exertion to manually lift, carry, push, pull or move objects or
    materials less than 50-100 pounds


    • Generally, involves 80% sitting, 10% walking and 10% standing, however some days

    may require much more walking and standing

    • Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching
    • Requires acute hearing and speaking skills
    • Requires fine dexterity to type, enter data and provide written communications
    • Use of standard office equipment including computers and general office equipment
    • Work is performed in a busy and noisy environment
    • Requires prolonged sitting or standing
    • Requires traveling to various sites
    • May require evening and weekend work

    Exemption Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

    Classification: Classified

    Full-time or part-time: Full-time

    Schedule: Typically, M-F 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

    Pay Rate: $ - $ per hour

    Benefits Eligible: Participation in college flexible benefit program which includes partially paid single and

    family health and dental coverage, 403(b) investment plan, reimbursement accounts,

    vacation and sick leave.

    Kansas Public Employees Retirement System is a mandatory 6% contribution
