Technical Training Manager leads the design and delivery of technical training programs. Determines training objectives by conducting analysis of overall needs and specific skill or knowledge gaps. Being a Technical Training Manager manages the development of training programs and materials including outlines, text, handouts, hands on exercises, and training evaluations. Establishes processes to monitor results and collect feedback on training instructors to determine effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Technical Training Manager assesses and manages any contractors utilized to deliver specialized training. May manage IT, product, or equipment training depending on the industry and setting. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to an director. The Technical Training Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. The Director of Technical Training position is an integral member of the University’s Innovation One team. The Director of Technical Training provides leadership in the growth and development of Trine’s Center for Technical Training. This position will interact directly with industry and regional secondary school corporations to develop partnerships for training along with teaching a variety of courses in industrial systems for electro-mechanical maintenance (mechatronics) and/ or manufacturing systems to make students ready to enter the workforce in the field of mechatronics.
In addition, this position will assist students with connecting concepts with real world applications, helps participants navigate potential course obstacles and gain an understanding of how classroom content is applied directly to their workforce development field. The director will have responsibility for teaching courses such as they are needed from the SACA portfolio and FANUC robotics; as well as, programs that will be identified as the program matures.
The Director will also be responsible and accountable for additional duties and assignments as prescribed by the Assistant Vice President of Innovation One.
Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year university or college.
