Technical Training Manager leads the design and delivery of technical training programs. Determines training objectives by conducting analysis of overall needs and specific skill or knowledge gaps. Being a Technical Training Manager manages the development of training programs and materials including outlines, text, handouts, hands on exercises, and training evaluations. Establishes processes to monitor results and collect feedback on training instructors to determine effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Technical Training Manager assesses and manages any contractors utilized to deliver specialized training. May manage IT, product, or equipment training depending on the industry and setting. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to an director. As the Automotive Technical Training Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all corporate shops as well as franchisees receive comprehensive training in glass and collision repair processes. You will be responsible for designing, developing, evaluating, and delivering training programs that equip staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles. Additionally, you will oversee our Fix Network Apprenticeship Program, fostering the growth and development of future glass professionals.
Training Program Development: Collaborate with subject matter experts to create comprehensive training programs, including onboarding for new corporate stores/franchisees, as well as ongoing training to keep all individuals up to date with industry standards. Liaising with 3rd party online training vendors to manage external training offerings, fees, and expenses as well as market available training opportunities and promote courses and offerings to build and sustain a learning culture.
Training Material Development: Create and maintain training guides, job aids, and training materials to support effective training delivery.
Fix Network Apprenticeship Program: Oversee the Automotive Glass Apprenticeship Program, ensuring the growth and development of apprentices while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
Training Delivery Backup: Serve as a backup for field trainers, providing hands-on training when needed and maintaining consistency in training quality for both in person and virtual sessions.
Direct Report Management: Lead and manage a team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to enable their professional growth and development.
Training Evaluation: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, seeking ways to improve and enhance the learning experience for franchisees.
Compliance: Ensure that all training programs and materials are in compliance with relevant industry regulations and safety standards.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with franchisees, regional managers, and other key stakeholders to understand their specific training needs and tailor programs accordingly.
Requirements
Proven experience in automotive technical training, with a strong background in glass and/or collision repair processes.
Knowledge of industry best practices, regulations, and safety standards.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in creating training materials and using training software.
Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred.
Work Conditions
Willingness to travel as necessary to provide on-site training support. Travel will be approx. 35%
