Communications Specialist 3 (Technical Writer) opportunity for our customer in
Los Alamos, NM to support the
Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Per diem and relocation for those who qualify.
Work Schedule: 9/80A or 5-8s or 4-10s (100% Onsite)

Summary:
Responsible for a variety of internal and external communications activities, strategic and tactical, conceptual and deliverable. Attains measurable results and improves continuously.
Considered an expert.
- Has wide-ranging experience, and uses best practices to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
- Has a sophisticated understanding of Laboratory objectives, organizational relationships inside and outside the Laboratory, and highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Adept at solving a wide range of complex problems.
- Frequently innovates and contributes to the development of new and improved approaches.
- Works well independently.
- Work products generally require little if any rework.
- Actively attaining management and leadership skills.
- May direct or coordinate activities of other personnel.
- Effective at giving and receiving coaching and constructive criticism.
- Typically requires at least eight years of related experience.
QUALIFCATIONS
Education:
Requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate degree or postgraduate coursework may be desirable.
Desired Skills:
- Extreme attention to detail, copy editing experience, mastery of language.
- Able to work as a team but also work independently
- Able to edit highly technical material – this will be very technical work, ability to follow/maintain style notes or guides, knowledge of nuclear enterprise would be helpful though not required
Experience:
- Extensive experience with technical editing of large publications.
- MS Office, Confluent (web publishing tool).
Clearance:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance is required.
