Job Title: Technical Writer
Location: Newark, CA
Job duties:- Create end-user documentation, such as user manuals, project case studies, troubleshooting guides, and configuration documents for different web applications and mobile apps.
- Interpret complex software/product features and functions and translate them into a concise, relevant, and readable format.
- Plan and modify technical documents, including user specifications, manuals, and test plans to facilitate the software and product development.
- Integrate user-friendly content in illustrations, graphs, and infographics for enhanced user experience.
- Establish cross skilling and enable agile documentation processes as a member of the Technical Communications COE.
- Document the profile and conversational script for the company’s in-house chatbot.
- Proofread and edit content created by the Engineering team and other Quality Analysts.
- Evaluate the user interfaces with the Development team to rectify the user interface (UI) issues.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Support teams to ensure the quality, discoverability, and accuracy of the content.
- Engage in product usability research and analyze the product design for improvements.
- Assess and evaluate the user and employee needs and level of knowledge relevant to technical documentation.
- Collaborate with Product Designers and Developers to study product samples and make instructions easier to comprehend.
- Must have two years’ experience of using Github, Ixiasoft CCMS, Confluence wiki, Adobe Frame-maker, Adobe Robohelp, Madcap flare, Aobe Illustrator, Articulate Storyline, MS-Visio, Draw.io as a Software Engineer or Technical Writer or Technical Trainer or a relevant environment where user manuals and technical documents for programmers are prepared, modified and edited.
- Employer may accept any suitable combination of alternative education and experience.
- Master’s degree in computer sciences, Information technology or relevant area or Bachelor’s degree in the aforementioned subjects along with five years of related experience.
