ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Greater Lawrence Technical School is a vocational high school committed to expanding access to lucrative technical careers through offering training opportunities for under-served youth and adults. We operate the After Dark Program for 11th and 12th graders from our sending school districts who receive vocational training in one of six career technical education areas. We also offer workforce development trainings to adults throughout the year in thirteen different technical areas. Expanding access to lucrative technical careers requires industry relevant training and strong job placement and retention. Robust employer relationships are the foundation for ensuring these critical components are in place. Greater Lawrence Technical School is seeking an Employer Engagement Manager to establish and nurture a flourishing employer ecosystem to ensure industry informed trainings, on-going employer relationships, and robust job placement and retention for our graduates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: •Responsible for marketing and promoting Greater Lawrence Technical School to employers. •Responsible for creating on-going networking and connecting opportunities for employers to contribute to the vitality of the After Dark and adult workforce development programs. •Assists in gathering support letters from employers for grants and other applications, •Shares business information to assist the GLTS team in career coaching students. •Participates in planning for employer demand driven programs at GLTS. •Contact employers to assess their needs and provide information on various services available through Greater Lawrence Technical School. •Provide various services to businesses including job referrals, recruitments, job fairs, referral to partners, apprenticeships, and other services as needed. •Understands trainee career aspirations and challenges, and serves as a matchmaker to achieve student placement. •Work collaboratively with team members to facilitate placement of GLTS graduates into open positions. •Remains connected with graduates during initial employment period to promote retention and communication of employment results. •Respond to incoming requests from employers in our region. •Ensure GLTS workforce development staff are aware of employers needs and job order specifications to facilitate prompt and effective servicing of job orders. •Conduct and/or coordinate group presentations to employers. •Plan, organize, and conduct job fairs, special events, and recruitments to provide large-scale labor exchange opportunities for both employers and job seekers. •Innovates new job placement and retention strategies to enact continuous improvement. •Communicates opportunities to enter the teaching profession to industry professionals. •Perform other related duties as assigned. The Employer Engagement Manager will work year-round full time and will be eligible for GLTS benefits. The schedule will include two evenings per week to coincide with the technical training schedule. This position is grant funded posiiton.
