ENDORSEMENT REQUIRED: [140] Or appropriate CTE endorsement
- Must be able to teach multiple industrial technology courses and an Advisory section.
- Must communicate and work cooperatively with students, staff, and parents to maintain a positive climate in the school.
- Must be skilled at teaching in a team atmosphere, including work on collaborative teacher teams.
- Must be adept at building relationships and maintaining high academic and behavioral standards for all students.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches her/his full potential.
- Participate fully as a productive CTT member.
- Implement building and district level initiatives.
- Demonstrate effective communication with students, parents, staff and community members.
- Able to implement a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of a diverse learning community.
- Ability to establish a positive learning environment.
- Participates in IEP development, work meetings, and parent conferences.
- Encourage parental involvement and communicate regularly with parents.
- Must implement building wide PBIS practices in support of building and district goals.
- Establishes and maintains high standard of pupil behavior to achieve a learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Willingness and ability to utilize MTSS system to support student learning and achievement.
- Must be willing to support and implement Davenport’s multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) for both behavior and academics.
- Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
- Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.
- Able to work as a team member.
- Other duties as assigned by administrator.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to -

Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs. such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture.
- Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather.
- Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
- Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.

- Experience with 4-block schedule and related strategies is desired.
- Willingness to accept supervisory duties that are conducive to a positive building environment.
- Understanding of the need for confidentiality with respect to student and parental rights and for conversations and hard copy information.
- Experience with Project Lead the Way (PLTW) or willingness to be trained.
