Telecommunications Director is responsible for the strategic planning and design of an organization's telecommunications systems. Develops policies and procedures for installing and maintaining telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Director plans and manages complex installation or repair projects. Assesses current and future telecommunications needs and researches and plans improvements to meet those requirements. Additionally, Telecommunications Director trains and develops staff. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Telecommunications Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Telecommunications Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     The Opportunity:

    In this role, you’ll analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring operating systems and protocol suites for virtualized and containerized systems. You’ll resolve difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across host, hypervisor, and guest nodes. You’ll load and configure cloud servers and vendor such as Cisco or Juniper, or white box routers and switches, and support the acquisition of hardware and software and subcontractor services. Act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed.

    On our team, you’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of software projects, our technical capabilities, and product design. Working on an agile team of experts, you’ll perform reverse engineering and vulnerability analysis of diverse software problems. You’ll inform operational parameters for complex systems, as well as leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to influence the delivery of your work. You’ll determine what the art of the possible is, what can be done, and then you’ll bring it to life for your clients. Are you ready to help us combat the most advanced adversaries?

    You Have:

    • 5 years of experience with providing technical support for the engineering and testing of complex software and hardware systems in the communication field
    • Experience with network planning for telecommunications switches
    • Experience with conducting integration and system level testing of telecommunications systems or platforms
    • Experience with Kubernetes and networking equipment, including Cisco or Juniper
    • Experience with VMWare, QEMU, KVM, or Docker
    • Experience with Linux or OpenStack
    • Knowledge of telephony and telecommunications, networking services, and software defined networking
    • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
    • HS diploma or GED
    • Cisco CCNA and RHCSA Certification

    Nice If You Have:

    • Experience with vulnerability analysis and exploit development
    • Experience with Python
    • Experience with Assembly
    • Knowledge of telecommunications

    Clearance:

    Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

    Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
