Telecommunications Director is responsible for the strategic planning and design of an organization's telecommunications systems. Develops policies and procedures for installing and maintaining telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Director plans and manages complex installation or repair projects. Assesses current and future telecommunications needs and researches and plans improvements to meet those requirements. Additionally, Telecommunications Director trains and develops staff. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Telecommunications Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Telecommunications Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • Position: Audio Visual Technician (90% Commercial/Industrial) for super high-end homes. Location: Edmonton, Alberta Job Duties & Requirements: Field installation of hardware: Logitech Yealink Viewsonic Crestron AMX Jabbra Audio equipment (8homs, 25V, 70V) Installing and commissioning audiovisual equipment including video panels, speakers, keypads, racking, cameras, access points, A/V cabling, and wiring. Knowledge of loading and troubleshooting Crestron, and AMX and other control systems required (not programming). Provide necessary training and support for next-level service technicians. Provide end-user client training as needed. Experience with networking including routers, switches, and configuring wireless networks ideal. Can read CAD-generated prints, building blueprints, and riser diagrams. Must have excellent communication skills and possess excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to do advanced troubleshooting on any device Must be able to read and write at basic English proficiency. The ability to perform basic math functions. The ability to lift 50-75 lbs., climb, crawl, and raise items overhead. The ability to climb in ladders. Installation experience of 2 to 5 years in AV or related industry. Knowledge in videoconferencing platforms (Cisco, Polycom, Zoom, MS Teams..etc.) Knowledge in construction basics (Commercial). Driver licences required. Employee must have a car (Truck) to bring equipment on installation site when required.
