Telecommunications Engineering Technician assists telecommunication engineers in the design and analysis of telecommunication networks. Creates plans and drawings detailing the layout of routers, circuits, cables, switches, or other telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Engineering Technician ensures network connectivity for end-users. May evaluate existing networks and recommend design changes to improve performance. Additionally, Telecommunications Engineering Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Telecommunications Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Field Technician
This is a field position that requires out of town assignments that include working 6-7 days per week. This includes having to stay in hotels for extended periods. All travel expenses are covered for out of town assignment. Even though this is a full-time position, it should be realized that this position will have down periods of time due to project scheduling and weather, to include reduced hours and possible layoff during the winter months. Typically, a Field Technician works a full year (2080 hours) within a nine month construction season.
