Telecommunications Technician maintains an organization's telecommunications network to ensure dependable operation. Monitors network systems and performs diagnostic tests to document and report performance levels. Being a Telecommunications Technician conducts routine checks and preventative maintenance to minimize malfunctions and downtime. Troubleshoots telecommunication issues and performs or coordinates repairs. Additionally, Telecommunications Technician may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Telecommunications Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     • Perform moderately complex assignments that require initiative and independent judgment in the selection and use of established principles and procedures.
    • Perform a range of work activities in a wide variety of contexts.
    • Plan, schedule, and monitor own work within a limited time horizon, using applicable methods, procedures, tools, equipment, and standards effectively with only occasional reference to others.
    • Respond to customers' needs, questions, and concerns in an accurate, effective, and timely manner and expedites corrective actions.
    • Work with client to define timeframe requirements.
    • Field customer questions and service requests via calls, voicemail, email, and walk-ins.
    • Resolve end-user IT issues remotely, in person, or dispatch to appropriate IT specialists.
    • Provide instruction to peers or customers as needed.
    • Monitor customer issues and IT service delivery via customer calls and online monitoring tools.
    • Escalate support issues to the appropriate department IT manager.
    • Assist with operation of loaner equipment library.
    • Provide end-user support in a fast-paced, technically challenging IT environment.
    • Work at both a construction site and an office environment.
    • Install and upgrade software and perform regular maintenance on personal computers and printers.
    • Document support and diagnostic activities and accurately resolve and close assigned trouble tickets by following customer support standards and procedures.
    • Actively manage customer expectations through effective communications.
    • Make frequent contact with end-users and customers to resolve problems and issues relating to information technology.
    • Work collaboratively to assist other Service Center and Deskside Support team members, ensuring team performance goals are met.
    • Spearhead service improvement initiatives, as requested by management.

    • Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
    • Experience in an IT Call Center troubleshooting user issues remotely.
    • Experience with Windows workstation hardware and software.
    • Experience with workstation imaging techniques and software.
    • Experience with MS Office and Internet Explorer.
    • Experience with networking.
    • Experience with infrastructure systems architecture concepts, configurations, and standards.
    • Ability to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the site.
    • Ability to physically move computers and associated hardware.
    • Ability to work productively with little supervision.
    • High School diploma or equivalent of 6 or more years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.
