Telecommunications Technician maintains an organization's telecommunications network to ensure dependable operation. Monitors network systems and performs diagnostic tests to document and report performance levels. Being a Telecommunications Technician conducts routine checks and preventative maintenance to minimize malfunctions and downtime. Troubleshoots telecommunication issues and performs or coordinates repairs. Additionally, Telecommunications Technician may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Telecommunications Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Position Description: 
     

    SPN Solutions is seeking to hire a senior level, skilled Telecommunications Technician to support ongoing critical requirements with one of our Defense customers in Bethesda, MD. The Telecommunications Technician will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support in the areas of telecommunications equipment, installation, and management. The Telecommunications Technician will function as part of a team, inclusive of customers, and must demonstrate sufficient written and communication skills to ensure success.


    Required Experience/Skills:

    •    Industry certification in Data I Voice Cable (both copper and fiber optic)
    •    Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make effective presentations and communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients.

    Primary Job Duties:

    •    Provide comprehensive technical support in the areas of telecommunications equipment, installation, and management. 
    •    Demonstrated experience in JCAHO standards for firestops and cable management within a healthcare facility.
    •    Using industry standards, develop and maintain processes for identifying and labeling voice/data/fiber cable plant.
    •    Maintain inventory of all installed infrastructure according to TIAIEIA and BICSI industry standards including documentation and schematics of voice/data/fiber cable plant.
    •    Strong customer service skills and ability to resolve cabling issues through coordination with clients, vendors, and facilities personnel.
